A poet splashing about in prose at present.
I fell into middle age and began studying for a degree in drama at the age of forty; the perfect student; sensible overnight; payback for the years of sex, alcohol and trashy high-heels. I’ve been flat-shoed since my thirties while my idiot pal stumbled around Gateshead in the snow, falling in and out of multi-story footwear. Now I am so the sparkling, intelligent, unruffled and together older woman.
My jobs have included: bar work, cleaning, acting, appropriate adult, selling wigs. Teaching: English in Poland and Spain; drama, creative writing and arts & crafts; live-in care work in Devon for a few years and now I have returned to reading tarot cards in Glasgow.
I started writing when I was in my thirties and have had over 100 poems published in many literary magazines, such as: London Review of Books, Writing Women, Envoi, Stand, Iron, New Writing Scotland, and recently, Poetry Scotland, Libertine, Northwords Now and New Writing Scotland.
